CURRICULUM

Training begins with a fully illustrated computer-based interactive course which introduces the basics of ladder logic and details the SLC 500 family of PLCs. An in-depth explanation of SLC 500 addressing is followed by an animated explanation of programming instructions. Upon completion of practice activities, the trainee challenges his/her newly acquired skills by taking a scored test. All trainee activities are recorded for the instructor's record. The CBT course allows flexible access and is fully indexed for later use as reference material.

Once familiar with programming techniques, the trainee goes on-line with the SLC 500 using TII's Advanced Control System Laboratory Manual. Activities include writing and running a wide range of PLC programs for industrial applications. Keystroke Reference Cards are provided for the programming software and hand-held terminal.
